Horror Addenda: a new substack

horror addenda /ˈhôrər əˈdendə/ (plural noun). Supplementary writings or materials related to the horror genre, often to expand upon unsettling themes, reveal hidden lore, or deepen the atmosphere of dread and suspense.

Horror Addenda will be a collection of writing, shifting in style, sometimes critical analysis and sometimes just a love letter. Don't worry about receiving a ton of emails (I'm not that fast of a writer). I'll have a couple pieces ready for the launch, and this blog-style newsletter may send a few extra emails around the spooky season, otherwise you can expect something every couple of months!

A dark, razor-sharp theatrical thriller by Emmy-winning writer of Succession, Lucy Prebble. The Effect dives into the chemical nature of love through the lens of a clinical drug trial.

This is where you are. It’s cozy here, a little dark, a little off, but comforting. It smells nice, like incense seeped into the furniture or what used to be freshly brewed coffee. It’s like watching a horror movie on a grainy television set in your grandmother’s basement.

You have the freedom to do what you’d like.

This website was created for a self-described horror enthusiast, non-fiction writer, avid reader, and art-seer. This work takes place primarily on the unceded and ancestral lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, colonially known as Vancouver, BC.
